Depending upon the territorial and subject matter jurisdiction of the case, an individual should approach the following appropriate authority.
• Can go to the Taluk service committee present in the court premises of that Taluk
• Can go to the District Legal Service Authority.
• Can go to the State Legal Service Authority. If your case is of state level.
• You can also approach to the High Court Legal Service Committee present in the concerned High Court Premises.
• Can approach the Supreme Court Legal Service Committee for the cases before the Hon’ble Supreme Court.

• For legal aid service you can apply offline or you can apply online in both ways you can apply by fil up the readymade forms/application available at your nearest legal service authority. You have also had the option to submit the form physically or by post.
• You can also file a simple application on a paper with all the important details mentioned on it for example- as such your name, residential address gender, employment status, nationality whether SC/ST proof, income per month with affidavit and the reason why you required legal aid.
• You can also send your application through online mode via email to NALSA (nalsa-dla@nic.in) or you can also fill the online form available at NALSA website.
• Another way is there where you can make your application orally with the assistance of paralegal or a officer of legal service authority.

Such persons can be assisted by the SLSAs/DLSAs/TLSCs or the advocate panels. The paralegal volunteers will also assist them who were stationed there fill up the forms for them. Applicant required to affix signature or thumb impression.
